Marigold Blossoms Bringing Prosperity to Women in Kanker

During May–June, more than 50 women received specialized training in advanced farming techniques. After the training, groups such women started marigold cultivation in areas ranging from 10 to 20 dismil. Altogether, they planted over 17,600 saplings on one acre of land, with an additional 2,700 saplings on 50 dismil.

Achievements of the Women:

  • From 20–30 dismil of cultivation, around 69 kg of marigold flowers were harvested.
  • Sold at ₹60–70 per kg, women earned ₹4,000–5,000 in income.

Women not only strengthened their families financially but also created employment opportunities for others.

This success story reflects how rural women are balancing household responsibilities with income generation. Through marigold cultivation, they are not only ensuring sustainable livelihoods but also inspiring other women to move towards self-reliance and empowerment.
