Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has expressed deep grief over the horrific road accident in Kharora area and expressed condolences to the families of the deceased. 13 people died and 14 others were seriously injured in this tragic incident. 13 people died in a road accident last night near Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. These include 9 women and 4 children. About 13 people are injured. The accident occurred when a vehicle carrying about 40 people returning from a family function collided with a truck near Kharora. The injured are being treated at the Medical College Hospital in Raipur and the Community Health Center in Kharora.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the news of the horrific road accident in Kharora is extremely painful. I pray to God for the peace of the departed souls and speedy recovery of the injured. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that in this hour of crisis, the state government stands with the affected families with full sensitivity.
Chief Minister Shri Sai has given necessary instructions to the officials for proper treatment of the injured. He has also announced that the state government will provide Rs 5 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured. Chief Minister Shri Sai has instructed the district administration to continuously monitor the quick relief and rescue operations.
The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has expressed deep grief over the loss of lives due to road accident in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Shri Modi also wished speedy recovery for those injured in the accident.
The Prime Minister announced an ex-gratia from PMNRF of Rs. 2 lakh to the next of kin of each deceased and Rs. 50,000 for those injured.
