Innovative Farmer Award by ICAR to Shri Aneshwar Verma, a farmer of Dongargarh development block

Mr. Aneshwar Verma, a farmer of Paragaon Khurd village of Dongargarh development block of Rajnandgaon received the Innovative Farmer Award from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR).

  • Apart from cultivating paddy, wheat and pulses, he is growing horticultural crops like tomato, chilli, marigold, mango and is also doing cattle and fish farming. He is producing organic manure containing phosphorus and has adopted mechanization and water harvesting in the fields.
  • Mr. Verma has developed an innovative sound system using PVC pipes and gas lighters to protect the crops in his fields from wild animals.
  • He has installed shade nets, drip irrigation and ponds in the fields by taking advantage of government schemes.
  • Mr. Aneshwar Verma has been awarded the Unnat Krishak Puraskar, Dr. Khubchand Baghel Krishak Ratan Samman, International Global Green Puraskar, Pride of Young Hindustan, International Maitri Samman.

Inspired by the success of farmer Shri Aneshwar Verma, many farmers have adopted innovative crop production techniques to improve their livelihood.
