Under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, the high level State Organizing Committee meeting for the organization of Bastar Olympics 2024 was held through video conferencing at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan.
Bastar Olympics 2024 is being organized to establish a strong and direct relationship between the government and the people of Bastar region and to connect the youth here to the mainstream, recognize their creative and sporting talent and prepare them as players, and connect and encourage the people here with sports activities.
With the aim of promoting traditional sports, the Chhattisgarh government will specially organize Bastar Olympics 2024 from November 5.
In which the youth of Bastar and surrendered Naxalites will play together. The aim of Bastar Olympics is to awaken a new hope in the Maoist-affected area. Its aim is to give a new direction to the youth and surrendered former Maoists through sports.
Bastar division of Chhattisgarh is a Scheduled Tribe dominated area, there is immense natural potential in the field of sports here. In Bastar Olympics, sports competitions will be organized at the development block level from 01 November to 20 November 2024, at the district level from 21 November to 25 November and at the division level competitions will be held from 26 November to 30 November.
Sports like athletics, archery, badminton, football, hockey, weightlifting, karate, kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball and tug of war have been included in the Bastar Olympics. For the successful organisation of the games, block, district and division level committees have been formed and department officials have been given responsibility.
